Baseball Recap: Swansea Has No Trouble Against Keenan

While Swansea didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-6), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Keenan Raiders with a sharp 16-1 win on Friday. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Dalton Porter made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Porter was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Britt Drawdy was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Jacob Harper was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Swansea hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in four consecutive matchups.

Swansea pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Keenan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Swansea has already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Saluda on the 15th. As for Keenan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-1 defeat against Silver Bluff on the 18th.
