Basketball Recap: Canutillo Comes Up Short

Canutillo suffered their biggest defeat since February 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 71-36 loss at the hands of the Chapin Huskies. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now lost nine in a row.

Canutillo's loss dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Chapin, their win was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-1.

Canutillo and Chapin should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Canutillo will take on Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 904 places (285 vs. 1189). Meanwhile, Chapin (ranked 31st) will meet Andress (ranked 251st) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
