Basketball Recap: KIPP Denver Collegiate Takes a Loss

KIPP Denver Collegiate suffered their biggest loss since January 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by the DSST: Cedar Falcons 81-40.

Leading DSST: Cedar to victory were Matt Stophel and Same Mehari. Stophel dropped a double-double on 16 points and 23 rebounds, while Mehari went 8 of 18 on his way to 18 points and six boards. Stophel is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamil Aboud, who posted seven points.

KIPP Denver Collegiate now has a losing record at 2-3. As for DSST: Cedar, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

KIPP Denver Collegiate will square off against Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manual is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season. As for DSST: Cedar, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-52 defeat against Peak to Peak on the 8th.
