Softball Recap: Foard Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Foard never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the West Iredell Warriors with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Karsyn Sigmon made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Foard got a massive performance out of Alexa Stillwell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those two hits gave Stillwell a new career-high. Addy Lael was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2.

Foard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Foard has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for West Iredell, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Foard will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
