Basketball Recap: Jackson Prep Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hoover, Jackson Prep was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 74-56 victory over the Evangelical Christian Eagles. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Mississippi, while the Eagles are ranked 227th in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jackson Prep's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Evangelical Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Jackson Prep and Oak Forest Academy will face off at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Oak Forest Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Jackson Prep surely won't give up without a fight. As for Evangelical Christian, they and Hartfield Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
