Soccer Game Preview: Ponte Vedra vs. Chiles

Ponte Vedra is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Chiles is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Ponte Vedra Sharks will host the Chiles Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ponte Vedra is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Ponte Vedra is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 6-1 margin over Mosley. Izzy Whitaker was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Chiles kept a clean sheet against Beachside on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Barracudas out 1-0. The Timberwolves' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last nine matchups.

Ponte Vedra has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 14-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those eight games. As for Chiles, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
