Volleyball Recap: Genoa-Hugo/Karval Takes a Loss

Genoa-Hugo/Karval lost against Burlington back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pirates took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

Amy James paced Genoa-Hugo/Karval's offense, picking up seven kills. James got some help from Rhegan Sitzman and her eight assists. Finally, Rylee Corn kept Genoa-Hugo/Karval's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Burlington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Kiowa on the 14th. As for Burlington, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Idalia on the 14th.
