Baseball Recap: Watonga Takes a Loss

Watonga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 8-3 to the Carnegie Wildcats. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 14-5 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Karsten Allen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Those doubles were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kale Beverley, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Watonga's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Carnegie, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watonga will face off against Burns Flat-Dill City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burns Flat-Dill City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something Watonga will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carnegie, they will challenge Hobart at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
