Wakefield wins going away against Dollar Bay

The Wakefield Cardinals lost to the Dollar Bay Bays back in February of 2023, but the Wakefield Cardinals didn't allow the Dollar Bay Bays the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Wakefield was the clear victor by a 54-33 margin over Dollar Bay. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Wakefield has posted against Dollar Bay since January 3, 2019.

When it comes to explaining why Dollar Bay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Adelyn Swain. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Swain hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kiera Isaacson, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.

Wakefield's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Dollar Bay, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wakefield will take on Baraga at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Dollar Bay's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wright at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. Wright will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
