Basketball Recap: South Starts Season with Loss on the Road

South kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 71-44 loss at the hands of the Great Bend Panthers. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why South lost, don't look at Jace Humphrey. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Devoe, who earned nine points.

South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 72-45 victory against Arkansas City on the 10th. Great Bend has also already played their next contest, a 62-61 win against Sterling on the 10th.
