Recap: Wilkes Central Eagles vs. Forbush Falcons
The Wilkes Central Eagles posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They breezed by Forbush at home to the tune of 75-37. With Wilkes Central ahead 42-19 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Tyson Owens continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Owens is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine Ferguson, who scored 12 points along with six assists and four steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Wilkes Central and bumps their season record up to 12-6. As for Forbush, their loss was their 18th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
Wilkes Central will square off against North Surry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Surry's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine games. As for Forbush, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Starmount at 8:00 p.m.
