Softball Recap: Henderson Gets the Win

Henderson had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 9-12 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bishop Shanahan Eagles, sneaking past 2-0. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Eagles on their field since May 15, 2023.

The result came thanks to Cara Pilotti's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.

At the plate, Henderson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josie Carfagno, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Carfagno has posted since back in March.

As for Bishop Shanahan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

On Bishop Shanahan's side, Kaylee Seybert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

Henderson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Shanahan, they will face off against Penncrest at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
