Softball Recap: River Road Takes Down Jim Ned in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, River Road rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Jim Ned Indians by a score of 8-5. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Indians on Friday, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Ava Sharp was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up five earned runs off ten hits. Sharp was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlynn Ferris, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Isela Delgado was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

River Road is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Jim Ned, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 20-10 record.

River Road will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair will be back at it again later today.
