You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Countryside on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Dunedin Falcons out of the water with a 69-37 final score. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Julia Smith was nothing short of spectacular: she shot 5-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. What's more, she also posted a 71% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Samantha Fernandez was another key player, going 8-for-15 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Countryside was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. They racked up 14 more assists than Dunedin's also-impressive total of 11.

Despite the loss, Dunedin still got an impressive performance from Kennedy Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. The contest was Brooks' third in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Anna Patterson, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

The win got Countryside back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Countryside is taking a road trip to challenge River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dunedin, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 45-28 victory against Tarpon Springs on the 20th.
