Basketball Recap: Latexo Skates Past Groveton with Ease

There's no place like home for Latexo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Groveton Indians 69-17. The game marked the Tigers' most dominant victory of the season.

Groveton's loss came despite strong showings from Josiah Allen and George Jake Snyder. Allen posted four points and 14 boards, while Snyder earned no points. Allen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. David Toe also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Latexo's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-15. As for Groveton, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-20.

Latexo and Groveton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Latexo will challenge Grapeland at 6:15 p.m. on Friday down 761 places (1060 vs. 299). Meanwhile, Groveton (ranked 1551st) will meet Normangee (ranked 553rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
