Preview: Manchester Blue Devils vs. Brookstone Cougars
The Manchester Blue Devils will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Brookstone Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Last Wednesday, it was close, but Manchester capped 2023 with a 52-50 victory over Troup County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Manchester.
Among those leading the charge was Laziya Moody, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaliya Gray, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, it was close, but Brookstone ultimately received the gift of a 46-44 win from a begrudging Cougarssquad.
The victory got Manchester back to even at 3-3. As for Brookstone, the victory also got them back to even at 5-5.
Manchester might still be hurting after the 38-18 loss they got from Brookstone in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Thankfully for Manchester, Taiylor Williams (who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
