Baseball Game Preview: North Vermilion Patriots vs. Notre Dame Pioneers

The North Vermilion Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Notre Dame Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Vermilion will be strutting in after a victory while Notre Dame will be coming in after a loss.

Notre Dame will be up against a hot North Vermilion squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Patriots put the hurt on Eunice with a sharp 14-1 win on Wednesday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 5-0 to Lafayette Christian Academy.

North Vermilion's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-15. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-12.

North Vermilion came out on top in a nail-biter against Notre Dame in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
