While Belding's victory against Hopkins wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Black Knights pulled ahead with an 8-7 photo finish over the Vikings on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Black Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Vikings are ranked 264th).

Belding now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hopkins, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Belding will face off against rival Kelloggsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hopkins is set to challenge their familiar foe Godwin Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
