Volleyball Recap: Johnstown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Johnstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Fonda-Fultonville Valley Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Valley Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on September 6th.

Johnstown was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Fonda-Fultonville work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-12, 25-12.

Fonda-Fultonville can attribute much of their success to Sigourney Myles, who had seven digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Myles a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Onaleah Egelston, who had nine kills.

Johnstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-2. As for Fonda-Fultonville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Johnstown is set to challenge their familiar foe Galway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Fonda-Fultonville will take on rival Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
