Volleyball Recap: Harvard-Westlake Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Harvard-Westlake couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Mater Dei Monarchs on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wolverines were not able to make up for their defeat to the Monarchs from their previous meeting back in September of 2017.

While Harvard-Westlake was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-12, 25-15.

Among those leading the charge was Lizzy Robinson, who had 12 digs and four assists.

Harvard-Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Mater Dei, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-4 record this season.

Harvard-Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they will venture away from home to square off against San Juan Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
