Basketball Recap: Stevens Comes Up Short

Stevens extended their losing streak to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 4-24. They took a blow against the Harlan Hawks, falling 63-29. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-21 back in December of 2025.

When it comes to explaining why Stevens lost, don't look at Andra Stokes. Despite the final result, she posted 21 points and four steals. That was a full 72.4% of the Falcons' points, marking the third time in a row Stokes has put up more than a third of the team's points.

As for Harlan, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points over those games.

Amari Hill continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was her third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Katherin Mancha, who shot 75% from the field on her way to 14 points.

Coming up, Stevens will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brennan at 5:30 p.m. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests. As for Harlan, they will venture away from home to face off against Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
