Basketball Recap: Atlantic Shores Christian Takes a Loss

Atlantic Shores Christian lost against Hampton Christian Academy last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks fell 49-40 to the Hampton Christian Academy Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Warriors are ranked 108th).

Hampton Christian Academy was led to victory by Jayla Crosby and Mahdy Sigler. Crosby went 12 for 21 on her way to 30 points and three steals, while Sigler almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Sigler is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Atlantic Shores Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Hampton Christian Academy, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Atlantic Shores Christian has already played their next matchup (against Portsmouth Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hampton Christian Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 72-41 win against Broadwater Academy on the 7th.
