Baseball Recap: Rangely Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Rangely was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They lost 17-1 to the Monte Vista Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 17-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Rangely saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Shaffer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Rangely's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Monte Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rangely will face off against Meeker at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monte Vista, they will take on Montezuma-Cortez at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
