Basketball Recap: Wells Takes a Loss

If Wells was feeling good fresh off their 54-9 takedown of Old Orchard Beach last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wells Warriors took a 40-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spruce Mountain Phoenix. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 38-24 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Wells now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Spruce Mountain, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Wells will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Yarmouth at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Spruce Mountain, they will head out to face off against Monmouth Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monmouth Academy is on a three-game streak of home wins, Spruce Mountain a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
