Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Westlake Thunder
The Lone Peak Knights will head out on the road to take on the Westlake Thunder at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lone Peak focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Lone Peak faced Lehi in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lone Peak fell 60-53 to Lehi. Lone Peak has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Thomsen Kramer, who scored 19 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Chamberlain Burgess was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Westlake's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 77-76 to American Fork. Westlake has not had much luck with American Fork recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Lone Peak's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8. As for Westlake, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Lone Peak was able to grind out a solid win over Westlake in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 53-41. Will Lone Peak repeat their success, or does Westlake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
