Basketball Recap: Roane County Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Roane County extended their road winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Aaron Layne. Everything went the Roane County Yellowjackets' way against the Meigs County Tigers on Friday as the Roane County Yellowjackets made off with a 74-50 win thanks in part to Layne, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game.

Another player making a difference was Blake Herrell, who posted five points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Meigs County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaxon Hope, who earned 11 points, and Bleu Armour, who had 12 points and five boards. Gavin Malone was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.

Roane County is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Meigs County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
