Basketball Recap: William Byrd Takes a Loss

William Byrd lost against Franklin County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The William Byrd Terriers took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklin County Eagles. The Terriers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

William Byrd's record is now 4-9. As for Franklin County, they moved to 4-10 with that win, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

William Byrd and Franklin County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. William Byrd (ranked 238th) will meet Staunton River (ranked 29th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Franklin County will challenge Fleming at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 250 places (260 vs. 10).
