Palmview has gone a perfect 9-0 against Cigarroa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Palmview Lobos will host the Cigarroa Toros at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Palmview has four straight wins, Cigarroa has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Palmview is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Martin get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Lobos have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Abigail Cantu made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Palmview got a massive performance out of Alynna Gonzalez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Yailyn Trevino, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3.
Palmview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .645. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Cigarroa came up short against Mission on Tuesday, falling 16-1.
Palmview pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 9.17 strikeouts in those games compared to only 2.44 in the others. As for Cigarroa, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Palmview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Cigarroa struggles in that department as they've averaged .548. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
