Volleyball Recap: Big Walnut Golden Eagles vs. Westerville South Wildcats
After flying high against Hayes on Tuesday, Big Walnut came back down to earth. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Westerville South Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Golden Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 3-2.
Big Walnut started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-27, 25-17, 25-16, 15-5.
Their offense was headlined by Nathaniel Weaver and Judah Stewart, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Bryce Lawhun and his 23 assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.
