Baseball Game Preview: Vermilion Sailors vs. Margaretta Polar Bears

The Vermilion Sailors are taking a road trip to take on the Margaretta Polar Bears at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.

Vermilion is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Edison on Wednesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers.

Margaretta came out on top against Oak Hill on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Polar Bears walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Red Devils. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Polar Bears as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Vermilion's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Margaretta, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.

Vermilion was able to grind out a solid win over Margaretta when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 8-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sailors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
