Softball Recap: Tylertown Comes Up Short

After flying high against East Marion last Tuesday, Tylertown came back down to earth. The Tylertown Chiefs lost 9-2 to the Bogue Chitto Bobcats on Thursday. The Chiefs were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Bobcats' pitcher proved too tough.

Tylertown saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mar'Keriyah Youngblood, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple.

Even though they lost, Tylertown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Tylertown's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Bogue Chitto, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Tylertown has already played their next match, a 15-4 defeat against Franklin County on the 3rd. As for Bogue Chitto, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-0 loss against Wesson on the 28th.
