Softball Recap: Stanton Buffaloes vs. Alpine Bucks        
        
		
            
 Stanton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. Their  tough  16-3 loss to the Alpine Bucks  might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Stanton of the  5-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2023.
  ALESSANDRA GLOVER was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  ABBYGAIL CAMPOS, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 On Alpine's side,  Hannah Juett tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run over five innings pitched.
 At the plate, Alpine got a  massive  performance out of  Emily Sweat, who  scored four  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.  Emyliana Hernandez was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with five  RBI, a  triple,  and a  stolen base.
 Stanton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Alpine, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-14.
 Stanton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Presidio at 5:00  p.m.  on April 9th. As for Alpine, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Kermit at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Alpine knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Kermit likes a good challenge.
