The Sandia Matadors will challenge the Hobbs Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sandia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.

Sandia is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Santa Fe, who was ranked 24th at the time (Sandia was ranked second). The Matadors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Demons on Saturday, sneaking past 3-2. Sandia better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Mateo Ojeda, as he scored every single goal for his team.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hobbs had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The result was nothing new for Hobbs, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Hobbs' fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four matches. As for Sandia, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4-2.
