Basketball Recap: Southern Valley Comes Up Short

Southern Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. The match between Southern Valley and Overton didn't end well, with Southern Valley falling 63-47. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Overton this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-36 back in December of 2024.

Overton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brock McCarter, who went 11-for-17 to rack up 25 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which McCarter has scored at least a third of Overton's points. Another player making a difference was Eli Luther, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and six boards.

Southern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Overton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Southern Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Overton, they have already played their next contest, a 69-66 loss against Elm Creek on the 25th.
