Football Recap: Bountiful Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Hudson Malmrose and Siaki Fekitoa

Bountiful started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Olympus. They fell 35-28 to the Titans on Wednesday. The Redhawks gained 170 more yards on the day, but it was the Titans that made the best use of them.

Siaki Fekitoa and Hudson Malmrose certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Fekitoa rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, while Malmrose rushed for 38 yards and a pair of scores.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least three total tackles, Will Smoot stood above the rest. He picked up 16 receiving yards and one TD. Bountiful's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.1.

With the defeat, Bountiful broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5. As for Olympus, the victory also got them back to even at 5-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Bountiful will challenge Clearfield at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Olympus, they will face off against Cyprus at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th.
