New Kent proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Grafton Clippers 4-2. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Clippers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

New Kent got a great performance from Jonah Sorrell as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Sorrell has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, New Kent saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Warren, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

New Kent's record now sits at 14-2. As for Grafton, they moved to 13-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. New Kent will challenge rival Jamestown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Grafton is set to square off against their familiar foe Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
