            Football Recap: Roosevelt Presidents vs. Wallkill Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They were six  points away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   30-24 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wallkill Panthers. Despite 58 more yards than the Panthers, the Presidents couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Although Roosevelt took the loss, they still got scores from  Chris Cash,  Kellen Powers,  and  Issa Kakish. Cash also deserves some recognition as  he  hauled in his first  receiving touchdown of the season.
 Roosevelt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess:  Darren Garrett and  Josiah James, who each picked up one  interception apiece.  Daouda Kone was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack and making 11 total tackles.
  Quincy Rogers was a one-man wrecking crew For Wallkill. as he rushed for 114 yards and three  touchdowns.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Wallkill, they moved to 3-4 with that  victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming  games. Roosevelt will face off against Warwick at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Presidents will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.86  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wallkill, they will challenge Cornwall Central at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Dragons' defense has only allowed 7.3  points per game  this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
