Baseball Recap: Schoharie Takes a Loss

Schoharie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Canajoharie/Fort Plain, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Canajoharie/Fort Plain this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 back in April.

Gordon Plank was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Schoharie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skylar Corrodore, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Schoharie's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Canajoharie/Fort Plain, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Schoharie didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-8 loss against Mayfield on the 8th. As for Canajoharie/Fort Plain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Mohonasen on the 8th.
