After a string of five wins, Everett's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Vernon Bulldogs.

Everett got a good showing from Conor Veals, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Veals hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.

On the hitting side, Everett saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luca Morales, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Everett's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mount Vernon, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everett will welcome Stanwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so the Seagulls' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mount Vernon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lynden at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.4, the Lions 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
