Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

Fairfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Mason Comets. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mason scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.

Mason was led to victory by Declan Mulvin and Logan Zemberi. Mulvin had four digs, two aces, and one block, while Zemberi had seven digs and one assist. Mulvin is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 18 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mason, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Coming up, Fairfield will take on Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mason, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Sycamore at 6:00 p.m.
