Football Recap: Bayonne Takes a Loss

Bayonne lost against Union City back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bees fell 27-14 to the Soaring Eagles. The Bees gained 150 more yards on the day, but it was the Soaring Eagles that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Bayonne still got an impressive performance from Nico Sampson, who threw for 171 yards and one touchdown while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one score.

Bayonne now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Union City, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayonne will welcome Irvington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Union City, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northern Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
