Softball Recap: Plymouth Comes Up Short

Plymouth came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the NorthWood Panthers, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 on May 2nd.

Elizabeth Derifield made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Plymouth's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for NorthWood, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Plymouth will be playing in front of their home fans against Northridge at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pilgrims/Rockies surely won't give up without a fight. As for NorthWood, they will take on Goshen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
