Chambers/Wheeler Central's loss ends three-game winning streak at home

Recap: Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades vs. Boyd County Spartans

It was a good run, but the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Boyd County 29-25. Chambers/Wheeler Central has not had much luck with Boyd County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Several Renegades players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brianna Klabenes, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Chambers/Wheeler Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Boyd County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paige Drueke, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Drueke has scored at least a third of Boyd County's points. Mckenzie Snyder was another key contributor, scoring two points along with nine blocks and seven rebounds.

Chambers/Wheeler Central's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Boyd County, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Chambers/Wheeler Central will head out on the road to square off against Bloomfield on Friday. As for Boyd County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Holt at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Holt and Boyd County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
