Softball Recap: Comanche Indians vs. Eastland Mavericks
Comanche had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-12 to make it five. They came up short against the Eastland Mavericks, falling 26-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered against the Mavericks since April 1, 2022.
Avery Luker was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Cassandra Rangel, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Eastland, their win bumped their record up to 4-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.
On Eastland's side, Lauryne Hobbs was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Huffman, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
