Soccer Game Preview: Southaven vs. Lewisburg

The Southaven Chargers are taking a road trip to take on the Lewisburg Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Southaven is headed into Thursday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They came up short against Hernando on Tuesday, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, Lewisburg faced Oxford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Lewisburg was the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Oxford. It was an even better day for Miller Lashlee as he scored three goals for his team.

Southaven's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lewisburg, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Southaven might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Lewisburg in their previous meeting back in January. Can Southaven avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
