Volleyball Recap: Orange Lutheran Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Orange Lutheran rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Mission Viejo Diablos as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Lancers as they're now sitting on three straight.

The win didn't come easy: Mission Viejo scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 27-25, 25-23.

Connor Engelbrecht paced Orange Lutheran's offense, picking up 17 kills. Engelbrecht got some help from David Zazueta and his 28 assists. Engelbrecht was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Orange Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 24-13. As for Mission Viejo, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 20-6.

Coming up, Orange Lutheran will face off against Warren at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. Mission Viejo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
