Softball Recap: Clymer/Sherman Wins Going Away Against Cassadaga Valley

Clymer/Sherman won the last time they faced Cassadaga Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wolves blew past the Cougars 16-4. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Elli Bodamer spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Keira Kinal was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Janelle Burchanowski was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Clymer/Sherman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cassadaga Valley only posted an OBP of .333.

The win made it two in a row for Clymer/Sherman and bumps their season record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Cassadaga Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
