Recap: Fredonia Yellowjackets vs. Neodesha Blue Streaks
The Fredonia Yellowjackets had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Neodesha by a score of 38-35. Fredonia has struggled against Neodesha recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Fredonia's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Campbell Odell, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Harlee Blackwell, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Fredonia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Neodesha, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fredonia will take on Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Neodesha, they will be playing at home against West Elk at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully West Elk focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
