Basketball Recap: Charles City Comes Up Short

Charles City lost against Decorah-North Winneshiek back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Charles City Comets were outmatched by the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings and fell 73-44. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Charles City's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-5. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Charles City will face off against Hampton-Dumont at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cascade at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cascade will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Decorah-North Winneshiek surely won't give up without a fight.
