Last Friday, Fairfield Central took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-20 win over Eau Claire. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 29 points or more this season.

Fairfield Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty'Quarius Shannon, who rushed for 139 yards on only five carries. Kaden Diggs was another key player, rushing for 55 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fairfield Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 393 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Columbia had taken Eau Claire down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Capitals fell 22-18 to the Shamrocks.

Fairfield Central's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
